Volume 8: „The current political situation in Rwanda – Scientific and practical perspectives

Content:

The Republic of Rwanda has received particular international attention in the context of the 1994 genocide. Less known, however, is the recent remarkable economic development of the “land of a thousand hills” (with a real GDP growth from 4.7% to 11.1% between 2006 and 2016) as well as the fact that, compared to other countries in the region, Rwanda has become politically relatively stable over the last years. These positive developments are contrasted by the role played by Rwanda in the conflict of neighboring DRC and the human rights situation in the country. Shedding further light on this complex picture seems even more relevant in view of the upcoming elections and a possible third term of President Kagame.

As a journal for applied Political Science, the aim of PSCA is to build a bridge between science and practice. For the first time, an entire volume covers a single country with a view to analyze the various dimensions of political action from a political science perspective.
